Testimonials From Our Guests

Here's what just a few of our guests have to say about their experience at Secret Garden Inn!

Our stay was wonderful in Tubac and the Secret Garden was actually nicer than we had hoped. For us, it was perfect. The suite and property was peaceful, well-tended, clean, beautiful and spacious. The Secret Garden compound has a Koi pond, fountain, and sitting area with equipment to barbeque if desired. It is hidden away but only a very short walk from an arts and crafts area with dozens of unique shops and restaurants. All of this without the sense of being in a "tourist trap". Our host was prompt, helpful, respectful and welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend the Secret Garden to others and we intend to return within the year because the area is amazingly beautiful with mountain ranges on all sides, high plains with vistas extending 50 miles to the foot of the mountains, ready access to places like Tombstone and Bisbee, and Tucson is only 45 minutes away. Tubac itself has a wonderfully eclectic assortment of shops operated by artists and craftsmen who present works displaying world class skill (this is not a strip of souvenir shops but showcases for very fine art work and the highest quality original jewelry, sculpture, pottery, iron works etc...). Artists and shop owners keep their own schedules but are usually to be found during main business hours). The atmosphere is authentically welcoming.

What a beautiful stay in Tubac, very much a home away from home. Ionia was very prompt in responding to my messages and immediately made me feel welcome. All six of us who stayed here were wishing we'd stayed for an evening longer—quite a luxurious home. The kitchen...fully stocked and the coffee was delicious. It is apparent Ionia loves this place and makes an effort to keep it homey for her guests. Not a single touch was missed. (By the way, the cleanliness of the place is on par!) We will be back, that is for certain!

The room was clean and well appointed. The setting is quiet and peaceful. The location is ideal - easy walking distance to anywhere it town. Our greeter was pleasant and helpful. A wonderful experience on all levels. We would definitely stay here again.

Ionia was a great host, and The Queen's Wreath is a spacious and welcoming abode. Everything was very clean; the kitchen was nicely appointed with plates, silverware, and cooking utensils; and the view outside was lovely (an expansive garden with a koi pond, footbridge, mesquite trees, and a lawn). The unit itself is very spacious, complete with foyer, sun room, living room, kitchen/dining area (downstairs), and bedroom upstairs.

Iona was very easy to work with. Cestianna met us at the Queen's Wreath and was very kind and welcoming. All was very clean and well appointed. Warm and lovely details, including kindling for a fire. Private and quiet. Large outdoor gardens all lovingly created and maintained. Thank you again Ionia & Cestianna.

The Queen's Wreath was a wonderful place to stay! My fiance and I biked from Tucson to Tubac for the weekend and the accommodations were just what we needed for a nice and relaxing visit. Ionia was very easy to get in touch with and was very helpful. We were met on arrival and were shown around. The location was perfect! Everything (shops, restaurants, the market, etc...) was in easy walking distance. The Queen's Wreath was outfitted with everything we needed and was very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The home exceeded our expectations. It is an absolutely beautiful and unique property. It was spotless and had everything we needed including a wonderful library and a gorgeous sun room. The sleeping loft has lots of light and a lovely balcony. We were able to fall asleep with the gentle breeze blowing in and to hear the coyotes howling in the distance. We also were treated to a visit from some shy Javelinas in the morning when we explored the beautiful garden areas with the pizza oven and mermaid fountain!

The house in Tubac was fantastic and exactly as pictured. The one area that the photos didn't do justice was the expansive grounds, there is an incredible amount of space with water features, fire pits, grill, ect... We enjoyed a fire every night under the stars. The house is within walking distance to all the art galleries and restaurants. Ionia and her partners were amazing and attended to every detail. I would strongly recommend their house to anyone staying in the area. Thank you

We very much enjoyed our stay at Secret Garden Inn. Ionia was very gracious and accommodating and made us feel at home. The property was beautiful with nice views of the mountains and was very accessible to the main part of Tubac. The room was spacious and had just about everything we needed or wanted. We would highly recommend it and will certainly stay there again.

The Secret Garden is found only with "secret instructions" as it is easy to miss if cruising around Tubac. It is a wonderful place and in a way, I don't really want to tell anyone so we can obtain lodgings without difficulty for planned return trips. It is a compound with statuary, Koi pond, waterfall, barbeque, comfortable sitting. It is exceptionally clean and well maintained, spacious while also cloistered, and only a walk of less than 5 minutes from the dozens of galleries, studios, and shops that define Tubac as an artist colony. Stayed September 2016, traveled as a couple.

My colleague and I needed an overnight getaway to do some strategic planning and writing, so decided to go to Tubac. We found the Secret Garden Inn online and took a chance. It was just the right choice. Our rooms were spacious yet cozy and comfortable; original, yet covered all the details needed to make a night away from home as pleasant as possible. The manager, Ionia was friendly and accommodating, and offered that if we needed anything to call her. We spent the following morning working in the gazebo, which apparently is used for weddings and other celebrations. I highly recommend the Secret Garden Inn, and will definitely return, hopefully next time with our wives. Room Tip: Two rooms with kitchenettes and 2 "houses" with full kitchens

Sweet little place where one can truly relax and let the cares of the world melt away. We stayed in the prince/princess quarters and loved the peace and privacy that the Secret Garden Inn offers. Room was beautifully decorated in authentic southwestern/Spanish style, kitchen stocked with nice dinnerware and glasses, electric teapot, coffee maker, & microwave oven and fridge. Nice tea and coffee provided, too. Room temperature easily adjustable and consistent and bed was nice and comfortable. We will definitely be back. Thank you. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple.

Beautiful and spacious grounds for the kids to explore. Great spot for a family gathering.

The dwelling is a 3 bedroom house. The bedrooms are nicely spaced apart with their own private bathrooms. Fully equiped kitchen. Cooking for a large or multi family would be ideal. Eclectic, mostly Asian decor. Nice sunroom with large potted plants. Fireplace is a gas fireplace. Landscape has a gazebo and pond. Didn't notice any koi. Grounds/garden has potential for that more "Secret Garden" feel. Met with Ionia who saw to it we were okay with everything.

We just stayed overnight while visiting Tubac. The room was very clean and adequate. We prefer a king size bed but queen is all they had. We went in January when it was pretty cold out. We had a fireplace in our room which made it cozy. The grounds I'm sure are beautiful when flowers and such are in bloom. A manager isn't present at this Inn- someone meets you to give you the keys.
